For the past few years I've been fiddling with the idea of leaving my regular 9-5 and finally start doing something drives me. But... the years have gone by and I just haven't been able to take the leap; that is until now. I have dabbled in the DIY world vicariously through the blogs that I follow, the all favorite Pinterest, and have been brave enough to do some stuff in my own home. It wasn't until I had several friends tell me that I've got the "vision" and that I should seriously consider making this a permanent thing, that I really started to listen to what they were saying. (Some have even trusted me with their homes.) At first I thought they were just being nice because they're my friends, but then I thought, "Why not me?"
So today I did the imaginable (in my book) and took that first little hop... I'm putting the pen to paper, or I guess cursor to screen, and actually starting my blog. And to add even more excitement to my new adventure, I signed up for the Haven Conference in Atlanta, GA this summer! Now, I am as rookie as they come right now to putting myself out there for all the world to see, but the way I figure it, each one of the bloggers that I follow religiously, all did the same thing that I'm doing now!
This next year is going to be one of discovery for me and my family and I couldn't be more excited! I have A LOT to learn and I'm more than willing. I also have a lot to share, I have learned the hard way, that life is too short to be miserable and it's certainly too short to not be doing something that you're so passionate about. There will be growing pains that everyone will get to witness and that's ok. Sometimes the biggest lessons come from our failures. I am super excited for what's to come and cannot wait to jump in!
